Course Options and Support
The Enchanted Circle Bicycle Tour travels counterclockwise around the beautiful Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway and features two passes in Palo Flechado and Bobcat.
You may elect to ride the traditional 85-mile loop or attempt a century with a bonus trek in and out of Angel Fire. Please note, in order to do the century option, you must be at the turnoff at Angel Fire no later than 12 p.m.
Enchanted Circle is held on open roads with both marked and unmarked hazards. Though we go to great lengths to make the event as safe as possible, you are only as safe as you ride.
Please ride carefully through Taos Canyon as the roads are narrow with minimal to no shoulder. We also advise that you use caution and control your speed when descending Palo Flechado and Bobcat Passes. There are steep descents, tight curves and the road conditions vary from good to poor.
Please also be mindful of the environment and wildlife. If you encounter any wildlife on course, please keep your distance.
As in all Roll Massif Sportives, support will be plentiful. Five aid stations will be stocked with Skratch mix and water, sweet and salty snacks and include portalets, handwashing stations and a bike technician. Along the course you will be supported by local law enforcement, Rapid Response medic motos, road marshals and SAG vehicles. Please be prepared however to take care of your body, whatever the weather, and be able to change your own flats.
It’s a Fiesta! Rider Meal and Libations
Eat
Following the ride, you will be treated to authentic Northern New Mexico cuisine by Shotgun Willie’s (no not that Shotgun Willie’s) with vibrant colors, delicious ingredients and regional spices. This post-ride meal is included with your registration. To purchase additional meal tickets for friends or family members, please click here
Drink Born out of a love for great beer and spirits, our good friends at Red River Brewing – a locally owned and family run business – will provide beer and cocktails to quench your thirst and delight your palate. Here’s what’s on tap - Lazy Bear Blonde, Cabin Fever Pilsner, Copper Chair Amber, Ed Iver Pale Ale and Vodka Lemonade!
What to Pack
Bring it all! Seriously, pack ride clothing for all weather conditions including rain, then decide in the morning what to wear and carry. If you are camping, bring plenty of layers. It gets cold in the high valley.
Get your personal event photos with FinisherPix, the official photographer at Enchanted Circle. Your personal photos will be available at www.finisherpix.com/e/3990. You may also upload a selfie prior to the event using our face recognition tool to ensure you see all of your great photos. Be sure your bib is visible at all times and don't forget to smile when you cross the finish line!
